Stow-Munroe Falls girls golfers fall to St. Vincent-St. Mary

The Stow-Munroe Falls girls golf team lost to St. Vincent-St. Mary Aug. 8 at Mud Run Golf Course in Akron.

The Irish earned a 183-199 victory.

Autumn Simpson and Kelsey Cole each led the Lady Bulldogs with scores of 49.

Giana Flasco added a score of 50 and Jen Goubeaux posted a score of 51.

Stow finished in a tie for seventh place with a score of 402 at the Kent Roosevelt Lady Rough Rider Invitational Aug. 6 at The Fairways at Twin Lakes in Kent.

The Kent junior varsity team won the 13-team competition with a score of 362 .

Aurora (368) and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (372) placed second and third, respectively.

Copley's Kiley Blachaniec shot an 83 to earn medalist honors.

Simpson led the Lady Bulldogs with a score of 89.

Also competing for Stow were Cole (97), Flasco (99) and Goubeaux (117).

The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to compete in the Suburban League Preseason Tournament Aug. 12 at Barberton Brookside Country Club in Norton. Results were not available at press time.

Stow is set to compete at the Lady Explorer Invitational Aug. 15 at Lake Forest Country Club in Hudson. Play is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Lady Bulldogs are set to host Akron Archbishop Hoban Aug. 17 at Fox Den Golf Course. Play is scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.
