The Stow-Munroe Falls girls basketball team looked rusty and disjointed in their win over Kent Roosevelt Dec. 27 in the opening round of the Tallmadge Holiday Classic
However, 24 hours later in the championship game of the Classic, Stow looked just fine — much to the dismay of the hosts.
Stow blew open a close game in the second quarter and cruised to a 57-29 win over Tallmadge to claim the Classic title.
Stow improved to 8-2, while Tallmadge dropped to 7-2 on the year.
The crucial stretch came late in the second quarter. After Tallmadge closed to with 19-15, the Bulldogs finished the half on a 15-0 run.
Up 34-15 at halftime, the Bulldogs were never threatened in the second half.
Stow was led by 10 points each from forwards Maddie Baer and Danielle Tiller.
Guard Sam Shaver added nine points for the Bulldogs and did a solid defensive job on Blue Devil point guard Kelsey Rice.
Forward Mary Ryan led Tallmadge with nine points.
