Walsh Jesuit girls soccer wins sixth state title

Walsh Jesuit girls soccer team played for its sixth state final in emphatic fashion Nov. 9.

Walsh won 5-0 over Columbus St. Francis DeSales in the Division I state championship game at Columbus Crew stadium.

Walsh's margin of vic tory was the largest in state title game history.

Walsh was led by 2 goals from senior forward Maddie John. Walsh got individual goals from Alex Kichcart, Sandra Yu and Kennedy Payne.

Walsh also had a pair of assists from Abbey Filicko. Walsh finishes the season at 21-0-2 as it defeated the defending Division II state champions.

Walsh's six state titles puts them tops among all soccer programs, both male and female.
