in Stow as a Bulldog, I always knew how taken care of I was by the people in my schools but it wasn't until I became one of those people that I truly understood what goes into making that happen for our students. I have been a teacher in the Stow- Munroe Falls School District for 13 years, currently a kindergarten teacher at Riverview Elementary. Over those years I have been a part of a family, a tribe, and the expression "It Takes a Village" plays out each day.
Each day I am surrounded by members of this tribe that work tirelessly to do what is best for the students in our district to create an environment that will see them not only thrive through their years in school, but also as productive and successful adults. We rely on each other, we support each other, we challenge each other. As I network with many educators all around Ohio, I can't help but beam with pride at the vision and direction of the leadership in our school district. We keep setting the standard high for other districts on innovation, the professional growth of our staff, and the experiences we provide for our students. And I am reminded that this "Village" is top-notch and it keeps pushing that standard higher and higher.
Why do we keep pushing that standard higher? The answer is simple, for our kids. We want them to become the best version of themselves. They deserve access to the best teaching, the best tools and the best facilities. They will look back and remember how proud they are to be a Stow Bulldog and how cared for they were. Thank you to all of the parents and members of the community who support this tribe and who help take care of this "Village."
