In regards to the
recent event at Stow-Munroe Falls High School concerning the "hit list" allegedly created by one of the students there, I do believe that it was handled the way it should have been handled.
I was, however, surprised at the lack of mention of any disciplinary action being taken toward the students who teased that student and allegedly provoked him into creating the "hit list." Far too often do we neglect to discipline those who bully and tease and provoke other students into saying or even doing something they may regret, whether they mean it or not.
Again, I believe that the issue of the "hit list" was treated appropriately, but until we address bullying and teasing in our schools as a serious issue and treat it as such with the proper discipline and education, we should not be surprised if something similar to this happens again in the future.
