Snow and Fire Hydrants

With all of the snow we've received in the month of January, it appears that almost everyone needs to be reminded -- and asked -- to please clear the snow away from a fire hydrant that is on your property.

It is not the city's responsibility to do this. It is yours. I realize the snow is pretty high along the curb, but if this was done regularly with every snow fall (like I do), it wouldn't be a problem.

God forbid there is a situation where the fire department would need to get to the fire hydrant and they would need to waste VALUABLE TIME clearing the foot-plus of snow away from the fire hydrant.

Please remember to clear the snow away from your fire hydrant.

How about nice to everyone? Why discriminate?

Another way to be a good citizen is to be nice to the elderly.
