Stow -- A 13.4-acre industrial development is planned at the end of Allen Road next to state Route 8.

City Council unanimously OK'd the proposal Nov. 19 after the city's Planning Commission unanimously approved it Nov. 10.

The land is off Alpha Parkway, a private drive that is adjacent to the National Guard Armory building.

The property will be divided into three parts, according to Planning Director Ken Trenner.

A 2.53-acre portion, which currently contains a 10,000-square-foot office building, is at the west end of the property.

The other two pieces of land -- 4.1 acres north of Alpha Parkway and 5.8 acres south of Alpha Parkway -- would be the sites of future development.

Alpha Parkway occupies 1 acre within the 13.4-acre property.

Vehicular entry to the office building is from Alpha Parkway, which extends nearly 1,400 feet west into the property from Allen Road.

Dividing the land into three parts will provide easier vehicular access, officials said, and the two larger blocks of land will have smaller setbacks from Allen Road.

The Alpha Park Landowners Association will be created and will maintain and repair Alpha Parkway, not the city.

"So there are benefits to the city and the developer," Trenner said.

The request for the land to be divided was made by Stanley Debro, who is the property owner and developer of the land.

The property is zoned I-2 industrial.
