Crooked River Jaycees

The Crooked River Jaycees get together on the third Thursday of every month at Munroe Falls City Hall. The executive board meets at 6:30 p.m. on these days, and the general membership meeting starts at 7 p.m.

The Jaycees are a national non-profit volunteer organization of state and local chapters throughout the country. The Jaycees offer young men and women, between the ages of 21 and 40, the chance to give back to the community while gaining leadership skills. Cuyahoga Falls Travel Club plans events

The Cuyahoga Falls Travel Club announces several upcoming trips. All journeys depart from Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. in Cuyahoga Falls.

The club will have a mystery trip May 21; the cost is $78. Lunch is included, plus other surprises. For more information, call Jack at 330-928-8879.

Heart of Ohio

Rehearsals for the Heart of Ohio women's a cappella show chorus take place Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church.

The barbershop chorus, led by director David Wallace, is looking for women of all ages in the greater Akron area who want to have fun singing and performing in a four-part harmony a cappella chorus.

Women in the community are invited to drop in during a rehearsal any Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church, 60 N. River Road in Munroe Falls.

Junior Mother's Club

The Junior Mother's Club of Stow, Munroe Falls and Silver Lake is a non-profit organization consisting of women who reside in Stow, Munroe Falls and Silver Lake with at least one child kindergarten age or younger.

"Junior Moms" participate in many service and fundraising activities, and every penny the group raises through its efforts is directed back into the community.

The group meets on the third Wednesday evening of each month.

Kent Tree City Toastmasters

The Kent Tree City Toastmasters is an active local service club providing a framework and forum for novice and advanced speakers to practice and learn new presentation skills.

The Laughing Club
of Northeast Ohio

The Laughing Club of Northeast Ohio meets every Saturday at the Cuyahoga Falls Library, at 2015 Third St., at 10 a.m., and welcomes new participants.

Martin B-26 Society

The Martin B-26 Society meets the third Thursday of every month at noon at the University of Akron Martin Center on Fir Street in Akron. Lunch is offered for $10.25, followed by a short business session and then a guest speaker.

The group is open to all who are interested in aviation and military affairs.

The Moms Club of Stow, a non-profit support group for stay-at-home mothers, participates in multiple service projects and charitable contributions throughout the year.

The group meets during the day.

The New Hope Center for Support and Recovery offers a divorce recovery group Mondays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m.

Rubber Capital Harmonica Club

The Rubber Capital Harmonica Club in Akron is looking for members (male and female, any age). The group plays at senior centers or nursing homes, for church groups and special occasions.

Rehearsals take place at North Springfield Presbyterian Church, 671 Canton Road in Akron, every Monday at 7 p.m. with "Fun Night" taking place on the last Monday of each month.

Stow Blanketeers

A local chapter of the national charity "Warm up America," the Stow Blanketeers meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month (excluding July) at the Stow Safety Center, 3800 Darrow Road, to knit or crochet blankets.

Since the group's formation, more than 450 blankets have been donated to local shelters such as the Battered Women Shelter, the Pregnancy Center and the Veterans Home.

Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club

The Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month for a luncheon meeting. On the fifth Wednesday of the month, the club hosts a membership recruitment meeting.

The cost for the meetings is $9, which includes lunch. The meetings take place at noon at the Red Lobster on Graham Road. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Stow-Munroe Falls Newcomers Club seeks women in Stow, Munroe Falls and surrounding communities.

The club offers activities for members and their families, including play groups, social events and lunches.

Meetings take place at Stow Presbyterian Church, 4150 Fishcreek Road, at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month.

Socializing begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meetings are followed by light refreshments and a program.

Guests are welcome at all regular meetings.

Those interested in volunteering to work on productions are always welcome and do not need to become members.
