at GriefCare Place
The GriefCare Place offers support groups to encourage those who have experienced the death of a loved one. All programs are free. The meetings take place at The GriefCare Place Support Center, a new facility at 4499 Darrow Road in the Keystone Building in Stow. The meeting area can be accessed through the building's rear entrance, directly across the street from the Omni Plaza.
The Widows Group, appropriate for a woman of any age who has lost her husband, is scheduled for April 23 at 12:30 p.m. (bring a sack lunch to that meeting) and 7 p.m. Edie English is the leader of the group.
The Young Widows Group, specifically designed for a young woman who has experienced the death of her husband, is scheduled for April 23 at 7 p.m. and led by Cindy Foraker.
Moving Ahead, designed for widows and widowers who have learned about the grief process and have moved into at least the second year of healing, is scheduled for April 24 at 7 p.m. Special guest speaker Connie Lancy of the Arthritis Foundation will attend the meeting, led by Betty Hack. The group also hosts periodic social activities.
This year's Blooming Brunch, to benefit The GriefCare Place, is scheduled for April 26 at 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls. Along with a style show with fashions from Coldwater Creek and jewelry by Silpada, a silent auction will take place. The cost to attend is $34, and reservations should be made by calling The GriefCare Place at 330-686-1750.
