After Prom trip planned
The Stow-Munroe Falls High School After Prom trip to Cedar Point has been scheduled for May 18. Tickets will be sold in the high school commons April 16 and 17 from 7 to 7:30 a.m. and during all lunches.
Make checks payable to the SMFHS After Prom. Exact change must be provided for those paying with cash. Reservations must be made by April 17. All sales are final, and no refunds will be available.
Students must board the buses for the trip at the high school parking lot at 8 a.m. Buses will leave at 8:30 a.m., and two adult chaperones will be on each bus. Tickets will be distributed at Cedar Point. Park hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Buses will leave the park at 7:30 p.m.
Students can bring pillows, blankets, cameras and electronic devices on the bus.
The committee will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. All bookbags will be stored in the luggage compartment.
Those who purchase tickets but cannot attend May 18 can use their tickets during a later date by paying a late fee of $6 at the ticket booth. Arrangements can be made to pick up purchased tickets by calling Tina Bednar at 330-630-3157.
Senior banners are available at a cost of $12. Fliers went home to each senior parent with an After Prom letter. The funds from the signs will go to the After Prom.
The decorating committee needs volunteers and supplies, such as coffee cans, large pieces of cardboard or foam core board and white icicle lights. Special education session set for April 17
The Stow-Munroe Falls School District's Special Education Parent Mentors will host a presentation on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Pizza and refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. until the session begins.
The presenter will be Kent State University Professor Melody Tankersley, who is affiliated with Akron Children's Hospital NeuroDevelopmental Center. She will present the latest information on AD/HD and offer helpful information on supporting a child with the challenges of this diagnosis.
This presentation will take place at Indian Trail Elementary School, 3512 Kent Road in the gymnasium.

Parent orientation meeting is at Lakeview
Parents of fourth-graders are invited to attend a parent meeting at Lakeview Intermediate April 22 from 7 to 8 p.m.
The meeting will take place in the school's gym at 1819 Graham Road in Stow. Information about Lakeview's student placement process, curriculum, PTA, extra-curricular activities and other topics will be presented that evening.

to appear in play
"Man of La Mancha" will come to the stage at Archbishop Hoban High School with help from six students from Stow and Munroe Falls.
The show portrays the adventures of an aged Spanish country gentleman who imagines himself as a noble knight and will run April 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 at 4 p.m. in the high school's Barry Gymnasium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. Call 330-773-6678 ext. 232 to reserve general seating tickets.
The cast includes Michael Younes, son of George and Laura Younes of Stow, and Ryan Michaels, son of Sandra and Thomas Michaels of Stow. Andrew Kern, son of Jim and Beth Kern of Munroe Falls, is in the orchestra. The crew includes Sara Ickes, daughter of Dwight and Mary Kay Ickes of Stow, and Lindsay Cajka, daughter of Amie and Phil Cajka of Munroe Falls.
The Tony Award-winning musical is best known for the enduring song "The Impossible Dream."
