Munroe Falls -- A Munroe Falls man told police April 8 that a credit card had been opened in his name without his permission.
The man said he became aware of the account when the credit card company phoned him in regard to the unpaid balance on the card.
The bill for purchases, which were made between June 7, 2007, and April 8, 2008, totaled $3,473.21, according to a police report.
Munroe Falls Police are investigating the reported identity theft.
Possession of drugs
April 6. Police discover suspected drugs: Munroe Falls Police arrested a 27-year-old South Euclid woman and charged her with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Main Street at 7:47 p.m.
Police discovered a bag of suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia when they stopped a vehicle in which she was a passenger in a parking lot just inside the Stow city limits, according to the report.
Police reported officers saw the materials between the passenger seat and the passenger door.
The woman, who was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga Municipal Court.
The driver also was cited for "squealing and peeling" her tires.

April 6. Police pick up man with active warrant: During a routine check of a North Moreland Road church shortly after 10 p.m., police observed a man wearing dark blue clothing leaving an unlit outside area, near the back wall of the church.
Munroe Falls Police recognized the man who, according to the report, appeared to be preparing to leave the scene.
The report states on-scene officers called for additional police officers.
Police discovered the suspect, 35, had a warrant out for his arrest issued by the Broadview Heights Police Department for failure to pay fines.
He was arrested by Munroe Falls Police and transferred to the custody of Broadview Heights Police officers, who charged the man with contempt of court, according to Broadview Heights Police officers.
