Munroe Falls -- A 36-year-old Akron man was arrested March 28 and charged with several offenses connected to a report of a stolen pickup after being apprehended by an officer at gunpoint.
Police reported locating the man near a residence on South Main Street after he allegedly fled the scene of a traffic stop on foot.
According to the report, an officer noticed the 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck the man was driving matched the description of a pickup truck reported stolen from a Copley resident.
When the officer stopped the Akron man, he allegedly fled on foot, climbed over a nearby fence and attempted to hide from police near the driveway of the South Main Street residence, according to police.
Police reported the man was apprehended at gunpoint without a physical altercation.
The man was charged with receiving stolen property and resisting arrest, according to the report.
Police also confiscated a blue baseball cap from the man, valued at $20.
The value of the truck was not reported.
The man is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
Possession of drugs
March 30. Suspected marijuana found during traffic stop: Police arrested a 44-year-old Tallmadge man following a traffic stop on Darrow Road at 3:37 p.m. and charged him with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to pass a breathalyzer test.
Police reported officers stopped the man's vehicle after a routing check showed the man was driving with a suspended license.
During the investigation, officers found nine grams of suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to the report. Police reported finding several empty beer cans in the vehicle, and the man was found to be intoxicated after he failed a breathalyzer test.
The man is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
