Look What’s Blooming this Spring!

Stow, OH -- With the winter temperatures behind us, signs of Spring are blooming everywhere, including the return of the fifth annual "Blooming Brunch in Paradise" on Saturday, April 28 at Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls.

This year’s brunch, benefiting The GriefCare Place in Stow, will kick-off at 10:30 a.m. with a silent auction featuring a great selection of items, including gift baskets, gardening tools, spa packages and more, donated by local merchants and individuals.

At 11:30 a.m., Brunch will be served as guests are treated to a special ladies fashion show from the Weekenders "Joy Collection." Guiding the models down the walkway will be the voice of Stow’s Annual Fourth of July Parade and local performer, Tom Stephan, as emcee of this annual event.

Throughout the celebration, "Men in Black" will circulate through the audience selling "Keys to Paradise" for a chance to win a very special grand prize. Guests will also be invited to remember a love one by purchasing a "Memory Heart" to place on The GriefCare Place’s Memory Tree.

Honorary Chair for this year’s fundraiser is Eileen Burg, wife of the late H. Peter Burg, former CEO and President for First Energy Corp.

"When my beloved Pete died three years ago, I gained a new understanding to the word widow. The support that I received from friends, family and the community is what has made a difference for me -- and I want to make certain that everyone who has lost a loved one has the opportunity to learn from those who have already walked the walk, " Eileen explained.

We will all experience the pain of losing someone at some time in our lives and turning that pain into compassion and service for others will make the most of a difficult situation, " she added.

Tickets to the Brunch event are $30 per guest. But don’t wait because seating is limited and event planners warn that last year’s event sold out before the ticket purchase deadline.

To reserve a ticket, contact the event’s coordinator, Karen Monbeck at MonbeckRealty@noe.rr.com. You may also call the GriefCare Place at 330-686-0 or visit their website at www.griefcareplace.org.
