Stow -- After completing the city"s Web site earlier this year, AtNetPlus Inc. made plans to move to Stow.
AtNetPlus Principal Jay Mellon said the company plans to relocate in July from Cuyahoga Falls to the Hudson Drive Business Campus, owned by Albrecht Inc.
"We have been growing and have outgrown our current space," he said. "We just redesigned the city"s Web site, and on it, [city officials] wanted to really promote business development in Stow. After we worked with the planning department on the Web site, we thought about moving to Stow."
Stow Economic Development Coordinator Chuck Wiedie said he is pleased the business plans to open in the campus.
"We are appreciative of the fact that they like what we"re doing," he said. "The relationship that we built with them while they were going through the Web site design is a really good business relationship, and we"re looking forward to continuing that when they open in Stow. And, these types of high-tech jobs are the types of jobs we hoped to attract."
The business, owned by Mellon and Stow resident Jim Laber, will open in one of the newly constructed buildings in the Hudson Drive Business Campus, Albrecht Inc. Vice President Jack Juron said.
Mellon said AtNetPlus provides computer assistance to "small- and medium-size businesses that don"t have their own [information technology] departments."
There currently are 11 full-time employees and seven full-time contractors, he said, adding the company will add five additional full-time employees in July, and he hopes to hire more later this year.
Mellon declined to provide the average salary of the company"s employees.
AtNetPlus will occupy approximately 4,500 square feet in the facility, he said, adding he expects the move to cost $500,000.
"We like [the facility"s] proximity to Route 8," he said. "Easy access is important, because our technicians are out on the road a lot."
According to Juron, the two new buildings comprise approximately 25,000 square feet each.
The facilities are considered flex buildings because they can be used for offices, storage or light industrial businesses, according to Juron.
They are located north of a 131,500-square-foot facility in the 106-acre industrial park.
Juron said AtNetPlus plans to take advantage of the space in the facility, using both an office and a warehouse.
"The concept of the flex building fits them really well," he said. "We are thrilled."
