I have been a resident on Northmoreland Ave. for many years and this has always been a busy street especially since they put the light at Rt. 91. Recently the city has placed our speed limit at 25 MPH. This is a great thing, however, the police need to step up the patrols with radar detectors. It almost seems like the only drivers that are following the speed limit are the residents that live on Northmoreland and every time I drive down the street at 25, I get honked at and almost rear ended. The other drivers seem to think it is a challange and fly down the road. My daughter was crossing the street to check the mail this past Wednesday and was very close to being hit by a driver that had to be doing between 40 and 50 and never even looked at her.
I would like to propose that if the speed limit is going to remain 25 MPH, then the police need to start using radar and patrolling more often.

for Father's Day, if not too late!!

A Father is an ordinary man.

He goes to work every day, and mows the lawn on Saturday.

He supports his family, expecting no praise for doing so.

He doesn't take sides.

Dads are quiet but they speak loud and clear.

His friends seek him out for personal advice. His children don't, but they are watching eveything he does.

Kids are always glad when Dads come home.

Dads may say they don't want any more children, but they sneak a smile at every new baby they see.

Dads take sick pets to the vet, and put up bird houses. They get the Christmas tree straight in the stand, and get the lights to stay on.

The women and children choose the family outings. Dads pack the car and do the driving.

Most of the men who protect our streets, our country and our lives are Dads. They are strong and hard on the outside, and have a big heart on the inside.

Dads make the best popcorn.

Dads are usually quiet, but they have a symphony of hope in their heads. They hope their children will stay in school, stay out of trouble, and eat their peas.
Past that, Dads are always proud of their children.

When Dads do part this life, they stay close by. We may not remember what they told us, but we remember what they did.

Thanks to all the Dads this Father's Day. We're lucky to be your children.
