Although Stow-Munroe Falls bowling did not advance its teams to the state tournament, the Bulldogs boys did send a representative from each squad to states. Freshman Tyler Meredith and each qualified for the state tournament. The boys state tournament took place March 5 at Shawnee Lanes in Chillicothe, while the girls tournament was set for March 6 at Shawnee Lanes. Results from states were not available at press time. Bowling at the boys district tournament Feb. 27 at Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton, Meredith qualified by rolling a 682 series to sixth-place in the individual race. The top six individuals and teams in the boys race advanced to states. Team-wise, the Stow boys were in sixth place after the first three games with a score of 3,022. However, Stow struggled in the Baker games series and ended up finishing 10th with 4,111 pins, just 84 pins behind sixth-place Austintown Fitch. Kent Roosevelt won the team title with 4,330 pins. Meanwhile, the girls district tournament took place Feb. 28 at Hall of Fame Lanes and Stow missed advancing by an even closer margin. The top five girls teams and individuals at districts advanced. Once again, Stow was in sixth place heading into the Baker games with 2,685 pins, but struggled a bit during the Baker games. Stow ended up in eighth place with 3,721 pins, just 50 pins behind fifth-place Hudson. Canton GlenOak won the girls team title with 3,891 pins. Stow senior Shauna Jones missed a trip to states by just 18 pins. Jones finished sixth in the girls individual race with 622 pins.
