FRANK L. KURTZ

Marine Corps veteran

Frank L. Kurtz, 86, of Stow, died Feb. 28, 2010.

Born in Kearney, Pa., he had lived in Stow since 1960 and was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in Iwo Jima. Mr. Kurtz had retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 1986 and was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He had coached CYO football, Kent Pee Wee football and Stow Hot Stove baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Harriett; daughter Cindy (Jim) Hayes; sons Larry (Donna), and Dave (Wendy); grandchildren, Russ, Mic, Corey and Darby; sisters Janet, Irene, Wilma and Helen; and brothers Joseph, Paul and Robert.

Visitation was at Redmon Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors provided by the United State Marine Corps. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333.
