The Church in Silver Lake

The Church in Silver Lake's Sunday worship is at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary with coffee and light refreshments following. Christian education classes for ages 4-12 and nursery care are provided during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The Junior High youth group meets every Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. The Senior High meets the second Sunday of every month from 2 to 5 p.m.

The hot meal to the community, "Lunch On Us," is served the first Saturday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Cornerstone Community Church

Cornerstone Community Church invites everyone in and around Stow to a very special series of messages designed to address the hurts, habits and hang-ups everyone has and with which they struggle.

The messages come from "The Beatitudes" which are part of The Sermon on the Mount in the 5th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible.

Crestview
Baptist Church

Sunday School takes place at 9:45 a.m. for all ages, with worship at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 6 p.m.

Adult Bible study takes place at the church Wednesdays at 7 p.m., as does a youth group meeting and TeamKid for first- through sixth-graders.

First Christian
Church of Stow

First Christian Church of Stow's Sunday services include worship in the chapel at 8:30 a.m., Christian Education classes for all ages from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and worship in the sanctuary at 10:45 a.m. Youth groups for sixth- through 12th-graders meet each Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Nursery care is provided during all services.

Kindergartners through fifth-graders begin worship in the sanctuary and then attend their own "Junior Church" after the Children's Sermon time. Communion is shared each week during both worship services.

There also are four other Adult Sunday School classes, and classes for preschool students through high school students.

Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center

On Sundays, Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center has 9:30 a.m. Sunday School with classes for all ages and 10:45 worship celebration.

On Wednesday evenings, the center offers The Gathering Place, with a 5:30 p.m. dinner gathering and 6:45 p.m. prayer gathering. Nursery and child care are available for all events.

There is also a Caravan Scouting program on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The pastor is the Rev. John M. Beers.

Grace Baptist Church

Grace Baptist Church is located at 5915 Rhodes Road (behind Gabriel Brothers) in Kent. Sunday morning worship service is at 9:30 a.m.; adult classes and Sunday School are available at 11 a.m. Established in 1964, the Rev. Dr. Bruce Chouinard has served as pastor since 1989.

Grace Bible Church

Grace Bible Church, located at 2474 Graham Road in Stow, just east of Charring Cross, has a worship gathering on Sunday mornings from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Nursery and early children's classes are available.

Grace Bible Church is being led by the Rev. Jim Brown, pastor, in a new series "With Jesus in the School of Discipleship." It is a chronological and expositional look at the signs and teachings of Jesus that focused on the training of His disciples -- with an eye to how Jesus trains us today using those same recorded lessons.

The men's ministry is receiving donations to their missions trip to the Dominican Republic where they will serve to build a community center for seven villages in a remote area.

Graham Road Baptist Church

Holy Family Parish

The Fr. Maruskin Council of the Stow/Hudson Knights of Columbus will have a Lenten fish fry each Friday during Lent -- from Feb. 19 through March 26 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. -- at Holy Family Church.

Menu items include entrees of baked tilapia, fried beer battered cod, jumbo shrimp, mac and cheese or cheese pizza. A choice of any two side dishes is included: French fries, hush puppies, seasoned rice, mac and cheese, salad, cole slaw, and soup. Coffee and punch are provided along with a roll and butter. Also available are bottled water, soft drinks and assorted dessert items at a nominal charge.

Mission Baptist Temple

The public is invited to a singing with "The Gospel River Boys" from Ironton on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. The event is free.

Mission Baptist Temple hosts a preaching service, a Master's Club, a club for children in grades one through six, and a youth meeting for students in grades seven through 12 Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Western Reserve

The Lenten Season has begun. On Sundays, worship is at 10 a.m. and an adult study hour at 9 a.m. which will explore the journey of intimacy with God.

Resurrection Lutheran Church, a mission congregation of the LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ) meets in the Community Room of the Safety Building in the Stow City Center. The Rev. Laurel A. Bobb serves as pastor.

St. Stephen Lutheran Church

Worship hours are 8:30 and 11 a.m., with the Rev. Arthur Cubbon Jr. officiating. Sunday School will take place at 9:45 a.m.

Men in Mission and Companions will meet Saturday mornings at 8 a.m.

Prayer Meetings take place every Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Bridge Ministry also meets every Wednesday at Perkins Park to feed the homeless.

Stow Alliance Fellowship

Worship takes place on Sundays at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday school programs for all ages and nursery care are available during both services.

On Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., Stow Alliance Fellowship offers activities for the whole family as well: Adult Prayer Ministry, Worship Choir, Women's Bible Study, Men's Bible Study (5 p.m.), Jr. High Youth Group, Sr. High Youth Group and Awana.

Stow Community
United Church of Christ

Worship begins at 10:30 am. Nursery care is provided for children through age 4.

Children's Sunday School takes place during worship, after the children's sermon.

Adult Sunday School classes meet Sunday before worship, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. The Bible Class is studying the gospel of John, and meets in the parlor at 9:15 a.m. Sunday mornings. The Friendship Group is studying the book, "The Heavenly Man" and meets on the lower level at 9:30 a.m.

Stow United Methodist Church

Lent has begun and the church has a Lenten Bible Study on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. There will be Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services at 7 p.m.; Easter services will be at 8, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. on April 4.

The Stow UMC Preschool is currently accepting registrations for the 2010/11 school year. There are still openings in both the morning and afternoon 3- year-olds classes which meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 am or 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Openings are also available for the 4-year-olds afternoon class that meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The morning 4-year-olds class and morning 4+/5-year-olds class are currently full, but names are being taken for the waiting list. The United Methodist Church in Stow has Sunday worship times at 8:30 a.m. for the Contemporary Service, 9:30 a.m. for Sunday School for all ages, and 10:45 a.m. for the Traditional Service.

Stow Presbyterian Church

Sunday worship times are at 8:15, 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday school for children and teens is at 9:30 a.m. Adult Bible fellowships meet at 8:15 and 9:30 a.m.

Twin Falls United Methodist

Boy Scouts will meet Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

On Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a worship service at Heather Knoll.

Scrapbooking/Crafts Fellowship will take place on Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be no evening scrapbooking until spring. Watch for the date.

A Bible study, "The Path to the Cross," will take place during Lent beginning Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship service at 10:45 a.m. There also is a "Kids Own Worship" each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. for children in kindergarten through fifth-grade.

There are two adult Sunday School classes at 9:30 a.m. One is Bible-based and the other topic-based with scripture.

Victory Life Church

Victory Life Church's Sunday morning classes begin at 9:15 a.m., with worship and a message from God's Word following at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday evening classes for children, adults and youth start at 7 p.m.

On Thursday evenings, the FM Young Adult Ministry meets at 8 p.m. for worship and a talk from God's Word.
