As Stow-Munroe Falls coach Athens Miller noted about the Akron Division I North sectional swim meet, "For some swimmers this is the end of the high school season and for others it continues another week. The girls have worked very hard this season to get to this point and took on the challenge in true Bulldog spirit."

Starting off the sectional action was Mialy Wells in the diving portion of the meet. She finished sixth in the sectional and has qualified for the district.

However, Wells finished in 17th place Feb. 17 in the district semifinals and did not qualify for the state meet.

The 200 medley relay team consisting of Shelbey Mitchell, Jessie Lee, Megan Kolke and Becca Kassinger took a full second of their best time and ended up in 11th place with a time of 2:00.02.

Next up was the 200 free where senior Emily Bauman (2:21.86) and Haley Adkins (2:19.99) both recorded their personal best times. The 200 individual medley was highlighted by three personal best times from Senior Lauren Stephenson (2:43.21), Kolke (2:37.20) and district qualifier Jessie Lee (2:24.19) with Lee finishing 14th overall.

The 50 freestyle saw all four entries post their personal best times - Christy Digiammarino (36.44), Hannah Evans (31.63), Rachael Moretti (27.48) and Kassinger (27.73).

In the 100 butterfly, Kolke (1:11.86) posted her personal best time, while senior Shelbey Mitchell (1:05.28) finished 15th overall and qualified for districts.

The next event the 500 freestyle saw large drops in the personal best times of Libby Einsporn (6:35.00), dropping seven full seconds from her time. Also Bauman (6:15.48) dropped eight seconds from her best.

In the 100 backstroke we saw drops in time from Alyson Schrengauer (1:35.69) and Chelsea Simpson (1:07.29) and 16th place, both personal bests. Shelbey Mitchell put her best stroke forward to take second place in an amazing time of (1:00.75)

The 100 breaststroke saw another qualifier from the Stow in Jessie Lee (1:13.84), who finished 14th overall and qualified for the district. Also posting a personal best was Adkins (1:16.12) dropping over two seconds from her best time and just missing going to the CSU district.
