The Stow-Munroe Falls Board of Education voted 4-0 Monday night to "intervene" in an Ohio Elections Commission case regarding a citizens group. Last July, almost eight months after a failed levy attempt, the Stow-Munroe Falls Levy Committee filed a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission against the citizens group, Stow Citizens for Responsible Government. Filed by Superintendent Dr. Russ Jones on behalf of the committee, the complaint alleges the group made numerous "false statements" regarding the district on its Web site, www.stowidiocracy.com. Later that month, the panel members ruled that some of the allegations may have probable cause to be a violation, while others were ruled there was no probable cause of a violation. According to the Board of Education's resolution, a final hearing on the allegations ruled to have probable cause is set for March 4. Board president Karen Wright was not available for comment due to the Board's scheduled executive session. Comments
