The Church
in Silver Lake

The Church in Silver Lake's Sunday worship is at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary with coffee and light refreshments following. Christian education classes for ages 4-12 and nursery care are provided during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The Junior High youth group meets every Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. The Senior High meets the second Sunday of every month from 2 to 5 p.m.

The hot meal to the community, "Lunch On Us," is served the first Saturday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Cornerstone Community Church

Cornerstone Community Church invites everyone in and around Stow to a special series of messages designed to address the hurts, habits and hang-ups everyone has and struggle with.

The messages come from "The Beatitudes" which are part of The Sermon on the Mount in the 5th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible.

Baptist Church

Sunday School takes place at 9:45 a.m. for all ages, with worship at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 6 p.m.

Adult Bible study takes place at the church Wednesdays at 7 p.m., as does a youth group meeting and TeamKid for first- through sixth-graders.

First Christian
Church of Stow

First Christian Church of Stow's Sunday services include worship in the chapel at 8:30 a.m., Christian Education classes for all ages from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and worship in the sanctuary at 10:45 a.m. Youth groups for sixth- through 12th-graders meet each Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Nursery care is provided during all services.

Kindergartners through fifth-graders begin worship in the sanctuary and then attend their own "Junior Church" after the Children's Sermon time. Communion is shared each week during both worship services.

There also are four other Adult Sunday School classes, and classes for preschool students through high school students.

Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center

On Sundays, Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center has 9:30 a.m. Sunday School with classes for all ages and 10:45 worship celebration.

On Wednesday evenings, the center offers The Gathering Place, with a 5:30 p.m. dinner gathering and 6:45 p.m. prayer gathering. Nursery and child care are available for all events.

There is also a Caravan Scouting program on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Grace Baptist Church

Grace Baptist Church is at 5915 Rhodes Road (behind Gabriel Brothers) in Kent. Sunday morning worship service is at 9:30 a.m.; adult classes and Sunday School are available at 11 a.m. Established in 1964, the Rev. Dr. Bruce Chouinard has served as pastor since 1989.

Grace Bible Church

Grace Bible Church, at 2474 Graham Road in Stow, just east of Charring Cross, has a worship gathering on Sunday mornings from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Nursery and early children's classes are available.

Grace Bible Church is led by the Rev. Jim Brown, pastor, in a new series "With Jesus in the School of Discipleship." It is a chronological and expositional look at the signs and teachings of Jesus that focused on the training of His disciples.

The men's ministry is receiving donations to their missions trip to the Dominican Republic where they will serve to build a community center for seven villages in a remote area.

Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church of the
Western Reserve

Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Western Reserve is now meeting on Sundays for worship at 10 a.m., with Sunday School at 9 a.m. and on Wednesdays for Bible Study at 7 p.m.

This new congregation of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC), being led by the Rev. Laurel A. Bobb, exists for anyone needing hope of new life, anyone desiring the support of loving Christian family as they start the journey of new life in 2010, and anyone already living the intentional journey of new life and wanting the encouragement of other Scripturally-based, grace-filled believers.

"What About Israel? (Romans 9-11)" -- Join Stow Alliance Fellowship this January as it considers the place of Israel in God's purposes: Past, present and future.

Worship takes place on Sundays at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday school programs for all ages and nursery care are available during both services.

Everyone is invited to attend the next spaghetti supper Jan. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. Prices are: $7 for adults; children 12 and under are $3. Chef salad and carry-out are available. There is no spaghetti dinner in December.

Children's Sunday School takes place during worship, after the children's sermon.

Methodist Church

P.U.S.H. -- Pray Until Something Happens -- is the first Sunday of every month from 6 to 7 p.m. People are encouraged to use the church sanctuary for quiet prayer and reflection.

A family movie night/fellowship/snacks is planned for Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. The popular Disney-Pixar movie, "Up," will be shown and is appropriate for all ages. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
