Served during Korean Conflict

Charles (Chuck) F. Bauer of Tallmadge, 73, died Jan. 9, 2010.

He was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Akron to the late Frank and Theresa Bauer. He graduated from Central High School. He was a veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He played the accordion in local clubs in the 1950s and 60s. He was a retiree from the Postal Service.

He was on the Munroe Falls Board of Zoning Appeals for 27 years.

Mr. Bauer loved following his Browns, Cavs, Indians and Ohio State teams. He loved working in his yard, reading Westerns, playing poker with his family, and watching his grandson's baseball games.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy E. Bauer; daughters Debbie (Denis) Wallin of Munroe Falls and Denise Cully of Uniontown; grandchildren, Nicole (Dirk) Rozich, Brandon Wallin, Randy and Ryan Cully; sister Ethel (Andy) Pfaff of Hiram; brothers Joe (Fran) Bauer of Akron and Steve (Sharon) Bauer of Tallmadge; and many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Calling hours and services were at Redmon Funeral Home. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fairlawn. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Summit County, 1889 Indian Hills Trail, Akron 44313.
