JEREMIAH (JERRY) JOHNSON

Veteran of World War II

Jeremiah "Jerry" Johnson, 91, died Dec. 30, 2009.

Born in Akron, he was a lifetime resident of Akron and Stow, graduated from East High School and was a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Johnson retired from GenCorp in 1977 with 40 years service, was a member of Victory Lodge 649 F & AM, Fernleaf Chapter 422 OES and Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. He also loved to golf and fish.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Dorothy; sons David of Akron and Jim of South Carolina; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and special friends Dick and Julie Smith and Hannah Paulin.

Visitation and funeral were at Redmon Funeral Home. Burial was at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 2406 Ardwell Ave., Akron 44312.
