Another laser incident occurs at KSU Airport

A pilot flying near the Kent State University Airport Dec. 6, a 22-year-old Akron man, reported that someone allegedly pointed a green laser into his airplane's cockpit from approximately 7:15 to 7:35 p.m.

The police report listed no injury or damage.

In a similar incident Nov. 9, a KSU Airport employee reported that someone allegedly discharged a green laser light into the cockpit of an in-flight aircraft at approximately 10 p.m.

A student pilot experienced a burning eye irritation following the incident, according to the police report.

Criminal damaging, criminal mischief

Dec. 1. Airgun: An Akron woman reported that someone allegedly shot an airgun-type device at her vehicle while it was parked at a Hudson Drive location, breaking a $300 window.

Dec. 1. Mess made: A Darrow Road business reported that a known juvenile male allegedly was caught Nov. 30 having smeared feces on the men's bathroom fixtures. Confronted with the act, the juvenile cleaned his mess and left the facility.

Telecommunications harassment

Dec. 1. Repeated phone calls: A Darrow Road business reported that someone allegedly made approximately 60 phone calls to the library between the hours of 1 and 7 p.m. The caller never spoke but stayed on the line until library staff hung up. The calls reportedly stopped once the caller was advised that police had been notified.

Dec. 8. Arrested: A 38-year-old Mogadore man was arrested for alleged telecommunications harassment following a Dec. 4 incident involving a Stow resident. The man had been advised not to call, but persisted with profane and threatening calls. He was later released on $500 personal recognizance bond.

Drug paraphernalia, drug possession

Nov. 30. Cocaine: Drug paraphernalia was added to a 37-year-old Leewood Road woman's charges, when police went to her home on warrant from the Summit County Sheriff to arrest her for failure to appear/cocaine possession charges.

Dec. 8. Marijuana: A 19-year-old Munroe Falls woman was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Darrow Road, during which officers reported discovering marijuana in her possession. The woman was a vehicle passenger.

Dec. 6. Injury: A Kentucky man was arrested on alleged operating a vehicle while intoxicated, blood alcohol content, drug possession, drug paraphernalia, and aggravated vehicular assault charges following an accident on Seasons Road near Allen Road overnight.

The man's passenger, a Kentucky woman, suffered a broken lower jaw, according to the police report, which does not list medical treatment.

Theft

Dec. 1. Pet taken: A 48-year-old Graham Road man reported that someone allegedly took his dog, an $800 Shih Tzu, while it was chained in his back yard overnight between Nov. 29 and 30. The man checked with neighbors, who saw nothing suspicious, according to the police report.

Dec. 7. From purse: While shopping at a Darrow Road business, a 77-year-old Stow woman reported that a woman allegedly took her $180 cell phone from her purse. The victim told officers she saw the suspect out of the corner of her eye, but could not see where she went in time to catch her.

Dec. 5. Television: A 28-year-old Echo Valley Drive woman reported the theft of her $500 television from her home overnight. The police report lists forced entry from a first-floor rear door.

Dec. 9. From vehicle: A Cuyahoga Falls woman reported that someone allegedly took her wallet from her purse while it sat in her car. The woman left her purse in the car while going into the business to pay for gas. Several credit cards, $45, a driver's license, and other identification were reported missing.

Dec. 9. Purse missing: The son of a Stow woman reported that his mother's purse containing $50 and identification had been lost or stolen sometime between Dec. 7 and 8.

Dec. 9. Burglary: An 18-year-old Hudson Drive man reported that a $1,999 computer allegedly was taken from his home. The police report lists no forced entry.

Munroe Falls

Theft, burglary

Nov. 30. Check: A 52-year-old Burr Road man reported that a $96 rebate check due to him had not been received. The remitting business told the man the check had been issued and that an investigation would not be done until he filed a police report, according to the police report.

Nov. 17. Burglary: A Lindsey Road resident reported that someone allegedly entered their residence through a rear door, stealing $55 from her bedroom. An investigation is pending.

Dec. 4. Snow blower: A 47-year-old Cathy Drive woman reported that someone allegedly took a $270 snow blower from her residence sometime between Nov. 20 and Dec. 4. The police report does not list forced entry.

Dec. 3. Accident: A 72-year-old man reported that a 21-year-old man who he had taken in three weeks ago allegedly stole his vehicle. The car was parked in the garage when the suspect took it. The garage and lawn were damaged as a result of the theft.

While reporting the incident to officers, Tallmadge police reported that the stolen vehicle -- driven by the suspect -- was in a serious accident on Tallmadge Circle. The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital and was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated by Tallmadge Police Department. Theft and criminal mischief are the charges on a warrant from Munroe Falls Police Department.

Telecommunications harassment

Dec. 2. Sexual activity: A N. River Road resident reported that someone sent text messages between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 to their cell phone containing a sexual photo. An investigation is pending.
