by Marsha McKenna Senior Editor Candidates seeking seats on Stow City Council have filed their pre-general election expense reports. According to the Summit County Board of Elections, candidates who raised or spent $1,000 by Oct. 14 were required to file pre-general election expense reports. Seeking to be at-large representatives are incumbents Ron Alexander, Janet D'Antonio, Sara Drew and challengers Brian Lowdermilk, Mike Rasor and Elgie Underwood. Three seats will be chosen by voters. Ward 1 candidates are incumbent Matt Riehl and challenger Doris Stewart. Ward 2 has incumbent Jim Costello and Mark Hickin facing off. Incumbent John Pribonic is vying with John Wysmierski for the Ward 3 seat, while incumbent and write-in candidate Mary Bednar is facing challenger Joe Hickin. Alexander reported no balance was brought forward and he received no contributions nor had any expenditures. He did report $1,941.17 in in-kind contributions from himself, with the largest being $393.75 for a newspaper ad. D'Antonio reported a $1,124.38 balance brought forward from the previous report. She received $1,725 in contributions and spent $1,957.67. She also reported $661.45 in in-kind donations, leaving her with a balance of $891.71. Her largest contribution received was $400 from the Republican Club PAC Stow. Her largest expenditure was $383.40 to Printdigital of Stow for printing copies. Drew reported bringing forward a balance of $206.80. She received $5,275 in contributions and spent $5,259.68, leaving a balance available of $222.12. She also reported an outstanding loan owed in the amount of $6,500 and made by Drew. Her largest contribution was her own of $1,000. Her largest expenditure was $1,080 to Record Publishing Co. for advertising. Lowdermilk brought forward a balance of $707.02 and received $1,545 in contributions and $729.11 in in-kind contributions. He spent $935.25, with the largest expenditure for signs in the amount of $639 to Signs and Blanks of Tallmadge. His largest contribution was for $500 from Jean Jones of Stow. He reported an available balance of $1,316.77. Rasor had no balance to bring forward on this report and received $985.16 in contributions, $50 in in-kind contributions and $1,111.71 in other income, listed as an outstanding loan made by Rasor. He had an available balance of $2,096.87. His largest contribution was $200 from Ann Amer Brennan of Akron. His largest expenditure was $402.01 for yard sign purchase from Premium Graphics in Houston, Texas. Underwood brought forward a balance of $20.19 and reported in-kind contributions of $45. He listed other income at $525 and had expenditures totaling $349. He had an available balance of $196.19. He also reported outstanding loans of $1,950 from himself and outstanding debts of $1,040.64 to himself. An expenditure of $180 to Record Publishing Co. for advertising was his largest. Ward races For the Ward 1 race, Riehl reported bringing forward a balance of $1,059.31 and receiving contributions totaling $3,080. He spent $2,561.18 and reported an outstanding loan of $200 from himself. His available balance was listed at $1,578.13. His largest contribution was $1,500 from LaTourette for Congress committee of Highland Heights. His largest expenditure was to himself for $1,781.18 for reimbursement for printing, ink, paper and postage. Stewart brought forward a balance of $1,841.05 and received $350 in contributions. She spent $1,417.12, leaving a balance on hand of $773.93. She reported a $2,000 outstanding loan from herself. Her largest contribution was $100 from Scott Miller of Stow and her largest expenditure was $315 to Record Publishing Co. for advertising. In the Ward 2 race, Costello did not file a report. Mark Hickin reported no balance brought forward, no contributions and no expenditures. He did report in-kind contributions totaling $392.50 In Ward 3, Pribonic reported he did not bring forward a balance from the previous report and received $3,295 in contributions and $258.95 in in-kind contributions. He spent $467.37, leaving an available balance of $2,827.63. His largest contribution was $1,000 from himself and the largest expenditure was $413.52 for a fund-raising event. In the Ward 4 race, Bednar reported no balance was brought forward. She received $1,895 in contributions and $204.01 in in-kind contributions. She spent $1,609.04, leaving a balance available of $285.96. Her largest contribution was $300 from Robert and Norma Thoman of Stow. Her largest expenditure was for $392.40 to Record Publishing Co. for advertising. No report was filed for Joe Hickin. Munroe Falls, School Board races According to the board of elections, there were no reports filed for the Munroe Falls City Council candidates nor for the School Board candidates.
