Resident of Munroe Falls
John W. Houk Sr., 49, died April 21, 2009.
Mr. Houk was a 1978 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He was a resident of Munroe Falls the last 23 years and attended First Christian Church of Stow. He was also a member of Indian Guides. He was described as an extraordinary craftsman and enjoyed helping family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Paul, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary; daughter, Courtney; son, John Jr.; mother, Bessie of Stow; sisters, Becky (Steve) Lutz of Munroe Falls, Lynn (John) Fauvie of Cuyahoga Falls, Bonnie (Steve ) St. Jean of Stow and Debbie (Mike) Kostensky of Brimfield; sister-in-law, Ann (Chris) Zajac of Novi, Mich.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was conducted by Pastor Houston Bowers at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Cancer Foundation.
