Stow -- Police arrested a 27-year-old Ravenna man on charges of robbery and theft Sept. 20 after an employee of a Stow Road retail establishment told police the man took clothing from the store without paying for it. According to the report, when leaving the store, the man allegedly waved a stun gun and ran away. Police caught and arrested him in the 4300 block of Kent Road. Information was not made available from police as to the manner in which police pursued the man, or whether the gun was still in his possession when he was arrested. The man allegedly took three pairs of blue jeans and a shirt. The total value was $91. The man was taken to the Summit County Sheriff's Office. Passing bad checks Sept. 22: Bad check passed: A clerk at a Graham Road check cashing establishment told police a female customer passed a bad check for $2,970.35 Sept. 12. Identity fraud Sept. 22. Money withdrawn: A Stow man told police someone made an unauthorized withdrawal from his checking account Sept. 19 for $2,101.97. Burglary, theft Sept. 20. Items taken from home: A Stow woman told police someone entered her house and stole items valued at a total of $1,450. Information as to whether the house was locked at the time was not available from police. The items were an empty pill bottle with the label torn off, a cigarette lighter, $550 in miscellaneous U.S. coins and $220 in U.S. bills. Police have no suspects. Theft, menacing Sept. 19. Student allegedly threatened by teens: A Stow man told police three teenage males had approached his son on the grounds of a school on Kent Road after school ended, allegedly verbally threatening him and attempting to steal his bike. Information as to whether the boy was injured, whether the bike was stolen and what party reported the incident to the school was not made available by police. The incident was reported to the school. Theft Sept. 18. Arrest for alleged gas theft: Police arrested an 18-year-old Akron man on charges of theft after receiving a report from a Steels Corners Road gas station employee that the man pumped $48.61 in gas, then allegedly left without paying for it. Information as to whether the man turned himself in was not available from police. The man was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond. Illegal processing
Sept. 16. Fake prescription: Police arrested a 26-year-old Kent man on charges of illegal processing of a drug document after a Graham Road pharmacy reported to police the man allegedly had dropped off two fake prescriptions so they could be filled. The man was arrested in the 3700 block of Darrow Road and transported to Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court. Deception to obtain dangerous drug Sept. 16. Alleged possession of Vicodin: Police arrested a 26-year-old Alliance man on charges of deception to obtain dangerous drug and possession of drugs, two fifth-degree felonies, after receiving a report from an Allen Road hospital employee. The man was found to be in possession of four Vicodin pills. Information as to how the man was found to be in possession of the pills was not available from police.
