Stow -- A man staying at a Stow hotel was shot in the head Aug. 29 just before 11 p.m., according to police.

The report to police was made a minute after the incident by the man's son. The son requested that police send EMS, allegedly stating that his father had been shot and may be dead, according to police reports.

Police, EMS and the Summit County medical examiner investigator were at the scene, according to Stow police.

The county medical examiner has not yet ruled on the cause of death, which may take up to three weeks, according to the medical examiner investigator.

The medical examiner's office is investigating.

Child endangering

Sept. 1. Unmonitored children: A Barberton woman told police of two male children, ages 1 and 2, who were walking down the middle of an unnamed Stow street without supervision.

Theft

Sept. 1. Stolen gas: A Steels Corners gas station employee reported someone in a silver vehicle had taken nearly seven gallons of gasoline, valued at $24, without paying for it.

Disorderly conduct

Aug. 31. Unruly guests: Police received at least eight complaints from various guests at a Bridgewater Parkway hotel that several guests of a wedding party there allegedly were "out of control." The complaints were for drinking, noise, and flowers being thrown and stomped on the floor. No one was arrested.

Breaking and entering, theft

Aug. 29. Door smashed, salon robbed: A Bridgewater Parkway hair design business reported a glass door was broken. There was $235 in cash stolen, as well as two hair dryers, valued at $189 each, and three flat-iron hair stylers, valued at $298 each. The total loss was valued at $1,807.

Police are investigating.

Assault, resisting arrest

Aug. 27. Assaulted by co-worker: Police arrested a 21-year-old Akron woman on charges of assault and resisting arrest.

According to a complaint from a female co-worker, the woman had assaulted her while she worked at a fast-food establishment on Hudson Drive.

The Akron woman is scheduled to appear in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court.
