Stow offers sports physicals

Physicals will be offered to students entering seventh- through 12th grade May 31 at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. Physicals will be done by physicians from Akron General Health & Wellness.

Cost per physical is $20. Checks should be made out to SMFHS-Athletics. Students are asked to complete the pre-participation physical form prior to arriving. Forms can be picked up at Kimpton Middle School or Stow-Munroe Falls High or can be downloaded at www.ohssa.org

Physicals will be offered for 11th- and 12th-graders at 8 a.m.; ninth and 10th graders at 9 a.m. and seventh and eighth graders at 10 a.m.

Lady Bulldogs Basketball camp set for June

The 2008 Stow Lady Bulldog Basketball Camp will be June to 13 at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

Camp will run daily from 9 to 3 p.m. and is open to girls entering the fourth- through ninth-grade.

Camp wil be directed by Stow-Munroe Falls head girls basketball coach Bob Podges, Stow-Munroe Falls assistant coaches and members of the Stow-Munroe Falls girls varsity basketball team.

Tutition is $100 for those who preregister a week prior to the campand $105 at the door.

Bulldog Golf Camp returns

The 11th annual Bulldog Golf Camp for boys and girls entering the sixth- through 10th grades will be June 17-19 at Fox Den Golf Course in Stow.

Cost for the three-day camp is $100 with $20 off for each additional family member. Camp is limited to 28 players and all players must provide their own clubs.

Camp will be directed by Stow-Munroe Falls head boys golf coach Kenn Miller and assistant coach Glenn Duncan.

Camp activities include instruction from PGA professionals, use of Fox Den practice facilities, video analysis of golfer's swing, camp souvenirs include a copy of the 2008 Rule of Golf, a picnic on day three, greens fees for a nine-hole tournament and daily prizes.

Football by Drake coming to Kent

The Football by Drake Youth Football Camp is scheduled to take place June 18 through 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kent State University's Dix Stadium.

Football players, ages 8-14, are invited to the camp for three days of instruction by coaches from all avenues of the game.

Youth, high school, college and professional coaches are expected to be there.

Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns is expected to attend and sign autographs.

Attendees need to ring a sack lunch the first two days. Pizza and drinks will be provided on the last day. The cost is $60.

Hudson Open coming to Kent

The Hudson Open is scheduled to take place June 20 at Oak Knolls Golf Club in Kent.

The shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m. It is a four-person scramble that includes 18 holes with a cart. The event includes snacks, luncheon and a golfer's gift. Prizes will be awarded.
