Akron General LifeStyles

Akron General LifeStyles will host summer camps for children and young adults ages 3 to 14.

The camps will take place throughout the summer from June 9 to Aug. 22 at both Akron General Health and Wellness Centers, located in Stow and west Akron.

This year's television show-themed camps include activities that will promote physical activity, learning and sportsmanship.

Participants can register for one or multiple sessions and one or multiple camps including pre-school camp, cheerleading camp, dance camp, basketball camp, day camp, SCUBA camp and SEALS camp.

Weekly field trips will include visits to locations such as the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, Wild Water Kingdom, Laser Quest, the zoo, canoeing, Great Lakes Science Center and more.

Dates, times and costs vary for each specific camp. All camps are open to the general public.

LifeStyles is located in Akron General's Health & Wellness Center -- West, 4125 Medina Road in Akron, and Akron General's Health & Wellness Center -- North, 4300 Allen Road in Stow.

LifeCenter Plus

LifeCenter Plus Health and Fitness Center will offer summer camps for children ages 3 to 13 from June 16 to Aug. 15.

Half-day and full-day camps are offered to members and nonmembers. LifeCenter Plus also offers before and after hours care for school-aged children.

Sessions are divided by age.

Varied choices and skilled supervision ensure a good experience for every child.

Sports camps offered include racquetball, soccer and basketball.

Travel and adventure camps include tent camping, "Scooter Mania," rock wall climbing, cheerleading, gardening, Wild West Camp and Super Hero Camp.

Child care services are available in the morning for children 5 to 13 and in the afternoon for ages 7 to 13. Parents must provide at least 24 hours notice by calling Lynsey Morris at 330-655-2377 ext. 145.

The cost of the camps ranges from $65 to $235, depending on the type of camp or services chosen.

The registration fee includes the child's Life-Center Plus camp shirt.
