Historical Society
announces programs

Munroe Falls Historical Society meetings, which are free and open to the public, take place on the second Thursday of each month in Munroe Falls City Hall, 43 Munroe Falls Ave. Meetings start at 7 p.m.

In honor of the pending Stow Township Bicentennial, this year's Munroe Falls Historical Society programs will feature topics relating to Munroe Falls, Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake. Parts of each of these four communities formed the original Stow Township, which was founded in June 1808.

On June 12, Willard Thomas will tell "The Story of the Children's Chapel," about the little white chapel at the Stow Christian Church at Stow Corners, which formerly was a school house, Village Hall and library.

* In addition to its monthly speakers series, the Munroe Falls Historical Society and its historical society partners in Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake will host special Stow Township Bicentennial activities in June.

The Munroe Falls Historical Society promotes interest in the history of Munroe Falls by making historical information about the community available to the public, as well as collecting, presenting, exhibiting and interpreting historical data and artifacts.

For membership details or additional information, call Marilyn Lown at 330-688-5878.
