Community Bus Trips departing soon

The Community Bus Trip program is a family-oriented Parks and Recreation program that allows residents and guests to enjoy tours all year round.

All costs are paid when registering; all admissions are paid on the day of the trip. All trips will depart from Stow City Hall at the scheduled time. Return times are approximate. The trips are for residents of all ages.

* A wine tasting is scheduled for May 17.

The group will leave Stow City Hall at 9 a.m. and return at 7 p.m. The group will travel to wineries in Ashtabula County with a guide. Snacks and desserts will be provided along the wine trail. Wine can be purchased. The cost, which includes transportation, lunch, snacks and samples, is $55 per person.

* A trip to see Akron Aeros games are scheduled for July 18 and Aug. 1. The cost is $12 per person per game.

* A trip to Play House Square State Theater is scheduled for July 19 to see "Jersey Boys." The bus will leave Stow City Hall at 5 p.m. and return at midnight. Tickets, which include transportation, are $88 per person.

The cost of dinner is not included. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call 330-688-1091 for more information.

* A trip to Greektown Casino is planned for July 26. The bus will leave at 7 a.m. and return at 9 p.m. The cost to attend is $40, with a cash bonus of $30 available.

* A trip is planned Aug. 1 to see the Akron Aeros play Harrisburg. The bus will depart Stow City Hall at 6 p.m. and return at midnight. Fireworks are scheduled during the event. The cost is $12 each.

* A trip to Marietta is scheduled for Sept. 13. The bus will depart Stow City Hall at 7 a.m. and return at 8:30 p.m. A guided tour, shopping and lunch at the Lafatlee Hotel will be available. Cruise on the Valley Gem Steamwheeler and stop at a wine cellar. Attendees are responsible for their own dinner. The cost is $80 per person.

* A trip is planned for Sept. 27 to explore the various food stores in Cleveland. The bus will leave Stow City Hall at 8 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. The cost is $53 per person.

Stops may include Italian, Middle Eastern, Asian, Greek and the West Side Market.

The cost of the trip, which includes transportation, a trolly ride, a shopping bag and book, is $53. Lunch is not included in the cost.

* A tour of the covered bridges in Ashtabula County is planned for Oct. 11.

The bus will leave Stow City Hall at 7:30 a.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. Attendees can participate in the Covered Bridge Festival and eat pancakes. A dinner at an authentic Amish home will conclude the day. The $48 per-person cost includes admission, a pancake breakfast and dinner.

* A trip is planned for Oct. 25 to see "Chorus Line" in Cleveland. Additional information will be provided during a later date.
