Last month, the program for the Police Neighborhood Watch Meeting was presented by firemen from the city of Stow Fire Department. The PowerPoint presentation documented the transfer of an obsolete (by USA standards) fire truck from Stow to Nicaragua. This transfer was made possible by a city of Stow donation and Rotary International funding. Lt. Thad Krejci and Firefighter Bob Dobson traveled to Nicaragua to train the Nicaraguans in the use and maintenance of the truck. I would like to offer a big thank you to the city of Stow, Rotary International and Thad and Bob, who used their vacation time to make this trip. Thad and Bob, who were impressed by the gratitude shown by the Nicaraguans, are attempting to gather used firefighting equipment and make a return trip this November. If local clubs are interested in a program that shows a great people-to-people experience, I recommend they contact Thad or Bob at the Stow Fire Department. Nancy Kroft Stow Comments
