Akron Community Foundation has selected John T. Petures Jr. to serve as its next president and chief executive officer beginning in early June, according to Board Chair Greg McDermott. Petures has more than 25 years of nonprofit fundraising, organizational management and executive leadership experience. He will replace Jody Bacon, who will retire as Akron Community Foundation's president after 18 years. "We are very excited with our appointment of John, and we are confident that he will continue to build the foundation's assets and service to the greater Akron community," McDermott said. "At the same time, it is with mixed emotions that we make this announcement because it signals the culmination of Jody Bacon's distinguished leadership. Jody has done a phenomenal job of building Akron Community Foundation's assets from less than $20 million to more than $140 million, and has grown its reputation and impact in our community. Her hard work has well positioned the foundation for its next chapter." Petures is president of the Arthritis Foundation Northeastern Ohio Chapter, where he oversees 200 program sites in 22 counties, including Summit County. Comments
