Bailey Road
Christian Church

Sunday School -- Bailey Road Christian Church hosts Sunday school for classes of all ages at 9:30 a.m. and a 10:45 a.m. worship service.

* The church also offers a "Just for Christ" event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sundays, which includes music, games, Bible study and snacks for pre-kindergartners through eighth-graders.

* A new contemporary worship service is scheduled to take place Sundays at 7 p.m.

* On the first and third Tuesday of every month, the "Happy Hands" sewing and craft group meets at 12:30 p.m. at the church.

* On Wednesdays, choir practice takes place at the church at 7:30 p.m.

* On every other Thursday at 6:30 p.m., the Girl Scouts meet at the church.

* The Christian Women's Fellowship meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Lunch available -- The church will host a "Lunch on Us" the first Saturday of each month at 11:30 a.m.

Service times -- Sunday School takes place at 9:45 a.m. for all ages, with worship at 11 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 6 p.m.

Family Church

Sermon series -- The Rev. Steve Hutchinson, pastor of of Dwelling Place Family Church, will begin a new sermon series about prayer in May, beginning May 1 -- the National Day of Prayer. The community is invited to meet at the Gazebo on the Green in downtown Hudson that day at noon.

First Christian
Church of Stow

Weekly services -- First Christian Church of Stow's Sunday services include worship in the chapel at 8:30 a.m., Christian Education classes for all ages from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and worship in the sanctuary at 10:45 a.m.

Youth groups for sixth- through 12th-graders meet each Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nursery care is provided during all services.

Kindergartners through fifth-graders begin worship in the sanctuary and then attend their own "Junior Church" after the Children's Sermon time. Communion is shared each week during both worship services.

* A yearlong class, "Overview of the Bible," is offered Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

All are invited to join in this review of the Bible, with the first unit covering Genesis through Deuteronomy.

There also are four other Adult Sunday School classes, and classes for pre-school students through high school students.

First Church
of Christ, Scientist

Special project -- A "Read the Bible in a Year Project" is under way at the Christian Science Reading Room. The public is invited to join church members of First Church of Christ, Scientist as they read through the Bible in one year. Visit www.forministry.com/usohcocscfco1 to view the daily readings.

An informal discussion group will meet on the second Saturday of every month to discuss the previous month's readings. Participants can join in at any time and bring along notes or reference materials to share, or just come to listen.

First United
Methodist Church

Rummage sale -- The church will host a rummage sale at First United Methodist Church May 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be 10 rooms filled with toys and games, children's clothing, clothing for men and women, shoes, records, cassettes, videos, handbags, jewelry and accessories, housewares, books and furniture. All profits benefit the mission projects of the United Methodist Women group at the church. Because of space, organizers request that attendees not bring strollers. To contribute goods to this sale, drop them off at the church April 30 or May 1 or 2.

* Dr. Joseph Daniels of Detroit will perform an organ concert at the church May 4 at 4 p.m.

The program will include Sowerby's "Pageant" and "Carillon," three fantasy pieces by Vierne, the late organist of Notre Dame in Paris, a sonata by Mendelssohn, Bach's "Prelude and Fugue in D Major," the Nocturne of William Albright and the first movement of the Widor "Symphony #6. A free will offering will be taken and child care will be available.

Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center

Services -- The church's Sunday Worship times are: Fishcreek School of the Bible at 9 a.m.; and Sunday morning worship at 10:45 a.m.

* Men's Basketball for those ages 15 and up takes place every Tuesday from 8 to 9 p.m.

* Visit the church Wednesdays for dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted. At 6:30, the church will host a time of worship, devotions and prayer.

* A youth Bible study program meets Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Lower Church Hall, Room 3. Men's Bible study meets at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays in the Lower Church Hall, Room 1.

* The church offers babysitting during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.

United Church of Christ

Worship times -- The Stow Community United Church of Christ hosts church services at 10:30 a.m.

Children's Sunday school begins after the children's sermon. Nursery care is available for children 4 and under. The chancel choir will sing under the direction of Jerry Busby.

The Adult Sunday School class meets Sunday before worship from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

The class is studying the Gospel of John, and meets in the parlor. The Friendship Group is studying Max Lucado's "In the Grip of Grace." The group meets on the lower level.

* A spaghetti supper is scheduled for May 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost to attend is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and younger.

* A service of healing prayer is scheduled for May 18 at 11:45 a.m. All are welcome.
