Was named Stow Mother of the Year in 1971

Betty Ann Fletcher died April 18.

Mrs. Fletcher was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Stow, where she served for many years as church secretary. She also served as a church elder, recently receiving the title of Elder Emeritus. She was past-president and an active member of the Christian Womens Fellowship, was active in the Dorcas/Rebecca Guild and performed in the church's handbell choir, the Joy Bells, as well as assisting with the youth bell choirs, the Celebration Ringers and the Joyful Noise. A past-president of both the Stow and Ohio PTAs, Betty was named Stow Mother of the Year in 1971, was active in the Stow Woman's Club and the Stow Historical Society. She also served as a school room mother, a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout den mother. The Fletcher family also hosted five foreign exchange students.

She was preceded in death by husband Charles; and sister Cora Lee. She is survived by children Lee Ann (Ray) Veatch, Paul Fletcher, Karen (Ken) Williams, Cheryl (Fred) Delaney, Duane (Laura) Fletcher, Mark (Joan) Fletcher, Cora (Bill) Dowey and David (Mary) Fletcher; 29 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
