High school to present 'Aida' April 25, 26 The All-School Musical at Stow-Munroe Falls High School this year is "Aida," a musical version of the story of Romeo and Juliet put to rock music with a setting in ancient Egypt. Production dates are April 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $10 for reserved. The nearly 60-member cast is led by Kevin Klemm, Hannah Drake, Wilda Koré, Alex Popovici, Steven Kaminski, Merry Schueneman, Chris Barnes and Dan Peters. Cynthia Jahn is producing and directing; Brian Monroe is the orchestra director; and Jerry Dolson is the technical director. The vocal music director is sophomore Chad Pittman, assisted by sophomore Albert Talcott. The choreographer is senior Maria Perretta. The student directors are Erin Moore, Justin Covan and Kathrine Dannemiller. The producers are Bethany Davis, Leo Simpson and Katie Alsop. The set designer is junior Charles T. Corcoran, and the stage managers are Charles T. Corcoran, Scott Busic and Hannah Iovine. The scenic artists are Anastacia Rahe, Sam Waters and Liz Light. Band seeking photos for special presentation The Stow-Munroe Falls High School Band is requesting photos of Stow and Munroe Falls residents who are on active duty in the armed forces. The photos will be used for a special video presentation during the "American Celebration" band concert May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stow-Munroe Falls High School auditorium. Send photos to Brian Monroe at SMFHS, 3227 E. Graham Road, Stow 44224. Include a return address so the photos can be returned. Photos also can be e-mailed to st_monroe@smfcsd.org. The Stow-Munroe Falls School District special education parent mentors invite families of students receiving special education services to an evening of information on the IEP (Individualized Education Program). Karen Majeski, the director of State Support Team Region 8 (formerly known as SERRC) will guide families through the IEP process beginning with the Multifactored Evaluation and continuing with the content of the IEP and the parent's role as a valued team member. The session will take place April 29 at Indian Trail Elementary School, 3512 Kent Road in Stow, in the gymnasium. Pizza and refreshments will be served from 6 to 6:30 pm. The presentation will start at 6:30 and conclude at 8 p.m., followed by questions and answers. RSVP to the parent mentor office by April 28. Nominations sought for teaching honor team Nominations are being accepted for the Summit County All-County Teaching Team. Anyone can nominate an educator teaching in Summit County in the kindergarten through the 12th grade. The team will have a teacher from each of the county's school districts, two teachers from the county's parochial schools and one from Summit County private schools. The honorees will be recognized at an Education Celebration Oct. 13. One teacher will be chosen as the recipient of the 2008 Teacher of the Year Award.
