ELLIS M. 'JIMMY' ABER

U.S. Army veteran

Ellis M. "Jimmy" Aber, 96, died April 9, 2008.

Mr. Aber was born in Akron and grew up in Lakeville. He served in the U.S. Army with the 101st and 82nd Airborne. He took part in the D-Day invasion and Battle of the Bulge and was awarded four Bronze Stars. He made the army a career, and moved to Stow when he retired. Mr. Aber worked as a custodian for the Stow Police Department for 15 years.He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church-McZena in Lakeville, and stayed at Falls Retirement Home for the last five years of his life.

He is survived by sister Marian Freudeman of Cuyahoga Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Susan Brown and Pastor Layton Broome conducted a service at the Redmon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Hope United Methodist Church, courtesy of Judy McFarland, 188 Country Road 2575, Lakeville 44638.
