A second Summit County teen has been arrested in connection with a home invasion that took place in Ravenna earlier this year.
Alexander N. Kazoun, 18, of 1759 Hibbard Drive in Stow, was indicted by a Portage County Grand Jury on June 15 on one count each of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary and three counts of kidnapping, all first-degree felonies with firearms specifications.
The weapons charges could add an extra three, mandatory years to any prison term Kazoun will receive if convicted -- or more if convicted on multiple counts.
Jason L. Sadler, 19, of Cuyahoga Falls, was indicted on identical charges in February. Sadler's case is pending in Portage County Common Pleas Court, with a trial scheduled in July before Judge Laurie Pittman.
Ravenna police allege that on Jan. 24, Sadler and Kazoun allegedly committed a robbery and burglary in the 500 block of Murray Court in Ravenna. Sadler's indictment stated that he was armed with a shotgun, while Kazoun's indictment stated that he used an unspecified firearm. During the incident, the men allegedly took three people hostage at gunpoint, and attempted to kill victim Nicholas Connelly, according to his indictment.
None of the victims were reported injured, but at least one shot was fired, according to a Facebook post by one of the victims.
That alleged victim, a 19-year-old Atwater woman, wrote on Facebook that "People ran up in my buddies house with big ... guns and shoot stole my friends phone iam so scared."
Kazoun was arraigned June 21 in Portage County before Judge Becky Doherty. He is being held in the Portage County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. Kazoun's attorney, James Burdon of Akron, could not be reached.
