Remembering safety forces who lost their lives

Published:

The Stow Doughboy basks in the warm glow of luminary light during the fourth Annual Jonathan Bastock Luminary Event that took place Dec. 1 outside the Stow City Center. The event takes place each year in honor of fallen police officers and firefighters. The event is named after Stow Officer Jonathan Bastock, a Cuyahoga Falls resident, who died in February 2011 from complications of an on-duty injury he suffered a month prior. At right, the luminary memorial can be seen from the top of a tower truck flying an American flag.
