Stow-Munroe Falls High School DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) chapter participated in District IX Spring Competition at the University of Akron. Approximately 35 SMFHS juniors and seniors competed in various business events in order to earn a spot at state competition held in Columbus in March.

The students have been prepping since the fall and competed in individual, team, and participating written events. Each student chooses their event according to their strengths and knowledge and then takes an exam and presents their scenarios, case studies, and written business projects to the judges.

DECA is co-curricular of the International Business & Marketing Institute. Students can join DECA by signing up through the Six-District Compact and choosing the IBMI career program. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The high school division includes over 200,000 members in 3,500 schools. For more information visit ohiodeca.us and/or deca.org.
