1 Local Farmers Market now open:

Tis the season for local Farmers Markets to be open for business.

Stow Community Farmers Market will be open on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Stow Community Church at 1567 Pilgrim Drive in Stow.

The Munroe Falls Farmers Market will kick off the season on Tuesday, June 13, from 3 until 6 p.m. at Brust Park on Route 91 in Munroe Falls. The Market will take place every Tuesday through Oct. 10.

School's out and many local churches have scheduled their annual Vacation Bible Schools. Some are starting this week, others later in the month and into July. For a listing of VBS and other summer programs, see Page 20 in today's Stow Sentry.

3 Interested in anime?:

The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library will host ToshoCon, its annual "mini convention" devoted to all things anime and manga on June 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be screening rooms for viewing popular anime shows, pizza and candy sushi, a Cosplay "Death Match" costume contest, art contest with panel discussions, anime trivia, Ramen noodle eating contest, videogames and more! Permission slip required to be signed by a parent and turned in by the day of the Con. Slips available at the Teen Information Desk or at www.smfpl.org. To register, call 330-688-3295 ext. 4. For teens who have completed grades 6 through 12.

4 Annual tours of Hudson homes, gardens:

Hudson Festival Days celebrates 70 years of community activities June 15-16 with home tours, artwork, ice cream and movies.

The Home and Garden Tour includes the gardens at Hudson Montessori School and homes, gardens or both within walking distance on Division Street, North Oviatt Street, East Streetsboro Street, Manor Drive, Aurora Street and Hudson Street.

The 70th Home and Garden Tour goes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 15 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 16.

Presale tickets are available at Acme Fresh Market and the Learned Owl Bookshop for $20. During the event, tickets will be available at the tent on the Hudson Green and at the Garden Shop at Hudson Middle School, 77 N. Oviatt St. for $25. Visitors are given a booklet listing each home and a map.
