4 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK

1 OBSERVING MEMORIAL DAY:

The annual Stow Memorial Day Ceremony, hosted by the city of Stow and the Acker-Moore Memorial Post, will honor those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The ceremony will be May 29 at 10:15 a.m. at the Stow Cemetery on Kent Road.

After the close of the ceremony, a wreath will be dedicated at the doughboy in front of Stow City Hall, followed by a reception at the Acker-Moore Memorial Post, 3733 Fishcreek Road in Stow.

2 WANT TO BE IN A PARADE?

Plans are underway for the 59th Stow Fourth of July Parade, which will be July 4. The city of Stow and the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls are sponsors of the event.

The theme for the 2017 parade is "Salute to Our Veterans."

The deadline to register as an entry in the parade is May 31. Entries must be received by that date to be considered for this year's parade.

3 BIGFOOT SPOTTED AT THE LIBRARY:

On June 1 at 7 p.m., Doug Waller, Founder of the Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation (SOSBI), will give an intriguing presentation on Bigfoot. Waller will discuss evidence the SOSBI has collected, as well as the telling of eye-witness sightings and encounters of the elusive beast.

Enthusiasts and skeptics welcome. This free program is sponsored by the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library and the Friends of the Library. To register, call 330-688-3295 ext. 4 or www.smfpl.org.

4 A SENIOR PROM FOR SENIORS:

Stow-Munroe Falls Drama Club will present the annual Senior Senior Prom on June 3 from 3 to 7 p.m.

This wonderful event is perfect for any lovely senior citizen.

The event will provide corsages and boutonnieres at the door for every individual; Prom Pictures will also be available..

There will be fun dancing, fantastic music and light hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and other refreshments. The cost is $10 a person or $20 for couples.

It will take place in the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Commons and is an event for anyone and everyone.

Dress up, come with your gorgeous sweethearts, your flavorful friends, or just come in on your own to make new acquaintances and friends.
