STOW The Skiers On Bikes in partnership with Easter Seals and the Roses Run Country Club, will host a "Fill the Truck" Fundraiser to benefit Multiple Sclerosis research.
The truck will be staffed for donations on May 13 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Roses Run Country Club, 2636 North River Road in Stow.
"Our fundraiser helps those who are doing spring cleaning and will actually benefits two very worthy charities: Easter Seals and the MS Society," said Karin Wolford, the organizer and a Skier On Bikes rider. "All donors will receive a tax-deductible receipt and all donated items will be reused, resold, or recycled."
There are a variety of items that can be donated. Primarily the group will be collecting cloth items such as clothing, comforters, blankets, curtains, towels, and sheets. Even stained or torn items are okay and can be recycled into something else. Donations should be laundered and bagged and plastic garbage bags are preferred.
People may donate kitchenware like pots and pans, silverware and dishes. This includes small appliances such as mixers, blenders, crockpots, toasters, coffee pots, waffle makers, etc. Please no microwaves.
Small household items will also be accepted like small picture frames/wall hangings, small kids' toys/games, knickknacks, jewelry, and CDs/DVDs/VHS tapes, shoes, purses, stuffed animals, small kids' toys and games. Al items must be in a closed bag/box.
SOB will not be able to accept books, furniture, lamps, mattresses, electronics, TVs, luggage, sporting equipment, seasonal decorations, anything that holds babies/children, sleeping bags or pillows of any kind. No large items like big toys, furniture, appliances, or carpet.
The Skiers On Bikes will gather clothing and small household items to fill the large truck parked at Roses Run Country Club. The items in the truck will be donated to Easter Seals of Northern Ohio, who will make a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society on behalf of the Skiers On Bikes team.
