Breakfast, prayers for May 4 Day of Prayer

Published: April 28, 2017 3:35 AM

In 1952, President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming a day "on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups and as individuals." That action began the National Day of Prayer. This year it is Thursday, May 4 and will be observed with a community breakfast and prayer time beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Stow-Glen Retirement Village, in Birch Hall, 4285 Kent Road in Stow. The public is invited to attend.

The event is sponsored jointly by the Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis Club and the Stow-Munroe Falls Minister's Association. Local pastors will lead the prayer time.
