1 SCRABBLE ENTHUSIASTS, UNITE!:

The Scrabble Club will meet April 30 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Library, 2015 Third St. Scrabble enthusiasts will gather for an afternoon of friendly competition.

Attendees are asked to bring a board if they have one. This is only open to participants ages 16 and older.

2 munroe falls tax issues on May 2 ballot:

Voters in Munroe Falls will decide two tax issues at the May 2 election. Issue 4 is a proposed increase in the city's local income tax rate from 2 percent to 2.25 percent. Issue 5 is a 2.8-mill, five year police levy to pay for such police-related expenses as salaries, vehicle and equipment purchases and maintenance and building maintenance costs.

The polling location for voters living in Ward 1 and in Ward 2's A Precinct isKimpton Middle School, 380 North River Road. The polling location for voters living in Ward 2's Precinct B and in Ward 3 is Twin Falls United Methodist Church, 60 North River Road.

Polling locations open and 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.

3 SEE A FREE MOVIE AT THE LIBRARY:

Stop by the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library for popcorn and a movie on the big screen May 3 at 1 p.m.

Due to the terms of the license, the library can't advertise the title of the movie. Call the library at 330-688-3295 ext. 4 to find out what's playing, or pick up a flier in the library.

4 ENJOY AN AMERICAN CELEBRATION WITH SMFHS BAND, CHOIR:

The Stow-Munroe Falls High School Band and Choirs will again be joining together to present the American Celebration Concert: Shall We Dance . on May 6 at 7 p.m. in the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Auditorium.

As always, the band and choir are looking for photos of members of the community who are active military (or National Guard) to honor as part of the program. Photos and names will be displayed on the screen as the band performs a patriotic selection.

Photos can be emailed to Brian Monroe at st_monroe@smfcsd.org. Include the soldier/sailor's name.

The concert is free and open to the public.

5 SUPPORT THE STOW-MUNROE FALLS BAND PROGRAM DURING TAG DAY:

The Stow-Munroe Falls School District Band Program's Tag Day is set for May 6. Students in grades seven through 12 will be going door-to-door throughout the communities of Stow and Munroe Falls seeking donations.

Money raised on Tag Day will be used to purchase music, new instruments, uniform repairs and new uniforms.
