The Rev. Leonard Budd will be the guest preacher at the United Methodist Church of Stow on Palm Sunday, April 9. His sermon will be taken from a line in the motion picture, "Jesus Christ, Superstar," where someone shouts, "Christ, you know I love you. Did you see I waved?"
The contemporary service begins at 8:30 a.m. and the traditional servicer at 10:45 a.m. The Chancel Choir will sing "Lift Up Your Heads" by Lloyd Larson at the traditional service. The church is located at 4880 Fishcreek Road in Stow.
Dr. Budd was pastor of the Stow church when it was formed in 1961. Since his appointment in Stow, he has served churches in Wadsworth, Lakewood and Cleveland Heights. He was a District Superintendent in Wooster from 1976 to 1980. He is married to Dr. Karen Budd, a retired administrator at the College of Nursing at Kent State University. They are parents of Julie Stuneck, director of music at the Stow church, and Ellen Budd, director of music at Family of Faith United Methodist Church in Akron. All three families live in Stow.
