Lutheran Church

St. Stephen's Summer Worship hours are at 8:30 and 10 a.m.

St. Stephen's Olympic Games are on Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. To gain admittance, bring a back-to-school item. Games are for all ages such as: ring toss, walk/run relays, and water balloon volleyball. Join the fun and win a medal for your team.

United Methodist Church in Stow

Church of New Hope

The Church of New Hope invites all to worship and share Christ's love each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

On Aug. 7, James Khanu, brother of our Missions Director, Eric Kargbo, will be the guest. On Aug. 14, the Rev. Richard and Minna Boettiger, missionaries to Germany, will be here to share their vision for Germany.

Wednesday night features programs for all ages. Groups meet at the church from 7 to 8:15 p.m.

Pastor Mark Lindberg is eager to meet all of the teens and their friends Wednesday night at 7 in the Student Ministries room. Teens can invite someone to come and find out what this group is about.

Cornerstone

Community Church

Sunday morning worship celebrations begin at 10 a.m. The Cornerstone Cafe is open from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. and immediately after the service with refreshments provided "on the house."

Singer / Songwriter Michael Card is one of contemporary Christian music's pioneers. The songs "El Shaddai" and "Love Crucified Arose" put him in the international spotlight just out of college. "Joy In the Journey" and "Jubilee" along with several other #1 songs would follow. He will be in Stow Sept. 9-11 for what he calls a Biblical Imagination Conference. His knowledge of and love for the Bible uniquely qualify him to lead this event. Pastor Dan Page says, "Michael Card is one of the most brilliant scholars I know. He has the amazing ability to take complex theological profundities and make them accessible and understandable to everyone. His commitment to scripture calls him to keep calling people to seek God with an informed imagination. The truth has to travel from the head to heart for it do what God intends. This weekend's focus will be on the Old Testament word hesed which is the New Testament's equivalent of agape. They express God's unconditional loving kindness which flow from the reality that God is love. It's going to be a great time topped off with a concert at the Stow Presbyterian Church open to everyone Sunday evening."

The conference begins Sept. 9 at 7 p.m., runs Sept. 10 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the Sunday evening concert at 7 at Stow Presbyterian Church. The early registration discount ends Aug. 8. Tickets will be available up to the evening of Sept. 9 at the door for the conference and the evening of Sept. 11 for the concert if they haven't sold out before. On that Sunday morning, Card will be singing and speaking at Cornerstone for the regular 10 a.m. celebration.

Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls

Summer worship at First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, is at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and child care is available for infants through preschoolers all morning.

Join the churches on "Church Square" for a Carnival in the Courtyard on Aug. 21 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be food, games, crafts, live music and more. All are welcome.

All youth in grades seven through 12 are invited to the Epworth Youth Fall Kickoff on Aug. 28. It will start at 11 a.m. with choir rehearsal and a parents' meeting followed by lunch and then the annual Service Road Rally. The Women's Bible Study groups will begin on Sept. 13/14 with Joanna Weaver's "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World." Saint Joseph Parish in Cuyahoga Falls

Saint Joseph Parish announces Mr. Eric Eiermann has joined its staff as parish catechetical leader.
