Gift Basket Silent Auction returning to KSU Aeronautics Fair

The Annual SMFCC Gift Basket Silent Auction is traveling to Kent State University, Andrew W. Paton Field, 4020 Kent Road, Stow, on Sept. 10. The baskets, donated by Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber members, will be on display at the KSU Aeronautics Fair from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Gift Basket Silent Auction bidders will enjoy a great variety of themed baskets to choose from.

September Monthly Luncheon

Please join us on Sept. 20, at Silver Lake Country Club, 1325 Graham Road, Silver Lake, for the Monthly Membership Luncheon. "Come Early to Connect," starting at 11:15 am. Our luncheon sponsor is Benjamin & Trevorrow, Certified Public Accountants.

Our speaker, Jeff Hoffman, University of Akron, is a successful entrepreneur, proven CEO, worldwide motivational speaker, published author, Hollywood film producer, and a producer of a Grammy winning jazz album in 2015. In his career, he has been the founder of multiple startups, the CEO of both public and private companies, and he has served as a senior executive in many capacities. He has been part of a number of well-known companies, including founder and CEO in the Priceline.com family of companies, uBid.com, CTI, ColorJar, and more.

Fall networking



The Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce we are co-sponsoring several multi-chamber events, as a benefit of membership with other local area chambers this fall, in addition to our regular calendar of events. This membership benefit adds even more opportunities for the members of each of these chambers to gain visibility and to grow their businesses/organizations.

New event coming

Starting on Sept. 2, the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce will join six other local Chambers of Commerce, for the "First Friday Networking on the Go" event. These events are on the first Friday of every month from 8-9 am, at Great Lakes Honda, 43 Pruitt Blvd, Akron.

As a member benefit, we will be joining the members of the following participating Chambers of Commerce: Cuyahoga Falls; Hudson; Kent; Streetsboro; Tallmadge; and Twinsburg. If you are not a member of one of the participating chambers, you are welcome to attend two times before joining one of the participating Chambers.

Bring business cards and your 30-second business commercial. Coffee and breakfast treats will be provided. There is no cost to attend. Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce members can make a reservation online at SMFCC.COM.

Speed Networking Event

If you are a member of any of the following Chambers of Commerce: Cuyahoga Falls; Kent Area; Streetsboro Area; or Stow-Munroe Falls, we would like you to join the networking extravaganza on Sept. 7, at Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center, 215 S. Depeyster St., Kent.

You will have the opportunity to introduce your business and its products and services to 75 other business professionals and potential customers, as we "speed" through facilitated and timed rounds of introductions.

Registration is at 1 p.m., and the event will start promptly at 1:30 p.m., and end at 4 p.m. Reservations can be made directly to your affiliated chamber. Cost for this member-only event is $15. Seating is limited to 19 members per chamber.

Seminar Coming

On Sept. 27, the Stow-Munroe Falls, Cuyahoga Falls and Twinsburg Chambers of Commerce will host a Glenn Shepard Seminar, "How to Supervise People and Lead a Team," at Riverwood Community Chapel,1407 Fairchild Ave., Kent, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
