The Stow-Munroe Falls boys basketball team lost a 56-48 decision to Green in its season debut Nov. 30 in Uniontown.
Green (1-0) closed the game with a 14-3 run to put it away.
Green led by as many as 10 (31-21) early in the third quarter before Stow rallied. Guard Jacob Williams, who led all scorers with 24 points, scored 11 points in the period for Stow. The game was tied at 40-40 heading into the fourth quarter.
Stow opened the game with a 9-2 spurt and led 17-13 after the first quarter. And then Stow went cold in the second period.
Stow scored just four points in the quarter on just 2-of-14 shooting. Green led 29-21 at halftime.
Stow (0-1) also was called for several offensive fouls in the game.
Green had its way on the boards throughout the evening. Dan Fanelly, a 6-foot-6 forward, led Green with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits for Green were Eddie Janini (13) and Carson Corle (10).
Matt Beech added 13 points for Stow.
